Wow!! What a summer for the ECPB!!!
It’s been a great summer for the ECPB! We were honored to be asked to perform at wedding receptions from Charleston to Atlanta to the Outer Banks and all areas in between and we loved it!!! We headlined Festivals and Community Events all over South Carolina and met some of the nicest people we’ve ever played for. THANK YOU ALL for inviting us to perform at your events and for coming out to help us put “10 pounds of party in a 5 pound bag!!”
A special shout out and thank you to guitar legend Mr. Earl Klugh for inviting us again this year to perform at his Weekend of Jazz at Kiawah Island – November 10-12! We are huge fans of this 12 time Grammy nominee contemporary jazz artist and are so looking forward to this event! Earl has the legendary Chaka Kahn (yes THE Chaka Kahn!) performing this year along with other c-jazz greats like Brian Culbertson, Mindi Abair, Eric Darius, and Spencer Day. If you are a music lover like we all are and want to see the absolute best of the best, get your tickets now. It will be an event you will remember! http://www.weekendofjazz.com/kiawah/ We are really excited about our 3rd cd project and are in the studio working on it. Check out the "2011 Recordings" section to catch the latest! With former "Chicago" great Bill Champlain and our good friend and musician extraordiare Edwin McCain lending a hand, this promises to be a very special record. Make your plans now to be a part of the biggest NEW YEAR'S EVE party in the Southeast as the East Coast Party Band returns to the Shrine Temple in Mt. Pleasant, SC for “Shaggin’ at the Shrine NYE 2011”! We love playing this venue and have shared this stage with artists such as The Four Tops; Delbert McClinton; The Chairmen of the Board; Clarence Carter; The Tams; and many more! We are working out the final details and will announce the full show very soon…there will only be @ 1000 tickets and they will go VERY FAST so check back here often for details. If you really want to "partay" on New Year's Eve then you need to "partay" with the ECPB! Ain't nothin' like it....it's the one night of the year we put "100 pounds of party in a 5 pound bag"!!! Thanks again to all of you guys for making summer so much fun. We just love seeing you dancin' and singin' and just having a ball!! Fall and Winter is sure to be another great season for us and we hope to see you at one of our performances. Hey, drop us a note sometime! We'd love to hear from you! Bev, Jack, Mike, Jerry, Mark, Mu, Jim, David and Joel – The East Coast Party Band It's getting pretty exciting around the ECPB world!
Hi everybody!
You've probably heard about our Guest Artists that will appear on our new record - Bill Champlin and Edwin McCain!!! Click on the "2011 Recording" link to check it out...We are so excited about this and just can't wait to get back in the studio with these highly talented musicians. It's all happening now and we hope to have it ready for you soon. It will be our third CD and it promises to be our best yet! As usual with the ECPB, it won't be...well... "usual"! Theres lot's of surprises and a bunch of new ground for us on this one but the one thing that will never change is our desire to give our absolute best to you each and every time...from our CD's to our Live Performances, you get everything we've got! And speaking of Live Performances, one of our favorite parties of every year comes up on April 17 at the beautiful Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park - The Blessing of the Fleet!! Since we are the "Official Musical Ambassadors of Mt. Pleasant, (and damn proud of it!) it's only right that we'll be there again this year putting "10 lbs of party in a 5 lb bag!" We sure hope you'll come out and support our Shrimpers and party with the ECPB! Hey...bring your sunscreen 'cause it's always hot and sunny and bring your dancing shoes - or just kick your shoes off and go crazy! We only have a few "public appearances" around the Mt. Pleasant/Charleston area ths summer so we hope to see you there. It is definitely Wedding Season and the ECPB is looking forward to performing for 13 Receptions over the summer from Charleston to Atlanta to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and one at a Farm up in Kershaw County! First off, thanks to all the Brides and Grooms and their families that have asked us to perform on this most special occasion. It is truly an honor for us to be asked and we will do out best to make this a magical night that you will never forget. We also want to remind our fans that we will be back again this year on June 24 headlining the Watermelon Festival in Hampton, SC! It's always a great big party under the stars and we're always excited about playing for some of the best folks on the planet! The ECPB has lots of personal ties to Hampton, Walterboro and that entire area so y'all come out and party with us! We always have our Gerald with us anywhere we go but when we play in Hampton and Walterboro, he's just a little coser to us... Ya know...it just doesn't matter if we are playing a wedding reception for 200 people or playing a festival for 30,000 - It's just too cool to see y'all out there dancing and shaggin' and smilin' and laughin'. That's why we do this thing called the East Coast Party Band....when we see the smiles and hear the laughs and and you guys clap and cheer 'cause you liked it...that's what it's all about for us! See you guys soon! ECPB The 2011 Show is almost here!
Hey everybody! The ECPB put in a marathon rehearsal last weekend to make sure we stay at the top of your "Favorite Band" list for 2011!!! We started Friday at 7pm at the ECPB band room and we didn't stop rockin' until late Saturday night! We did have to take a little time for some chili (was it hot enough David?!!) and some wings at the one and only Wild Wings Mt. Pleasant - a favorite of the ECPB and our good friends, Fowler's Moustache. Mark (our musical director extraordinaire!) brought in all kinds of new music to add to our list that already includes the best Shag; Rock; Pop; R&B and Ballads you can find on the planet. I can't tell you what the new songs are just yet (because Mark would kill me) but if you bring a frozen concoction and your science book to our next show, you'll be rockin on the dance floor till you just go crazy! We're gonna cause a lot of thunder this year and the sharks are definitely gonna be out in style!
We're also getting ready to head back into the studio to record our next record - and we're working on some surprises that have got us all very excited (especially Jerry!) More on this soon... Make sure you check out our calendar. We'll be headlining a lot of public events and festivals again this year and would love to see you there! I think we've also got a "few hundred" weddings, too!! Hope you get invited :) !!!! We'll be there making sure that the Bride and Groom have the time of their life and their guests leave saying "That's the best party and the best band I've ever seen!"....just what we want them to say! See you guys soon! ECPB Winter time with the ECPB!!
Wow! What a fun December! A couple of great wedding receptions - thank you so much Gibsons and Baldwins - we had a ball and truly hope that we were able to help you create a very special memory that will last a lifetime for the Brides and the Grooms, for the Families, and for all the Guests!! and then a huge New Year's Eve party at the Charleston Downtown Marriott with 1,000 ECPB fans!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We just love playing NYE because you guys always come out to the show and make it happen for us. We'd like to send out a special ECPB thanks to "On The Hunt" and "the Blue Dogs" for getting everybody rockin'! I can tell you that when we took the stage a little before midnight, the PARTY BAND was ready to PARTY and so was the crowd!!! You never want to miss the ECPB on NYE!!!
We took a short trip to near Gillisonville last weekend and played a super party for Robert Elliott and some of the nicest folks we've ever played for!! It was a beautiful place out in the country and the ECPB cranked it up "in the building out back" with lots of shag, R&B, disco and some 70's rock-n-roll!! There was even a "scat" vocal solo thrown in there somewhere and it was amazing!! Jack and Bev were on Delbert McClinton's Blues Cruise so we brought in Mark Stanley to bang on that bass guitar and talk about rockin' the house!!!! Thank you Mark! You are such a talent...and an even nicer guy...we love you man!! ...and thanks to Robert Elliott and everyone at the event...we so much appreciate your hospitality and look forward to playing for you guys again... The ECPB will be playing alot of wedding receptions and private parties over the next few months but we'll also be appearing at many public events and festivals so check out the calendar and COME SEE US!!! ...and be sure to post us a note..we'd love to hear from you! Past Couple Weeks
Well People, Things have just been crazy! The Party Band started back up after our Summer Hiatus! The Friends of Santa show was just great. Such a good cause and lots and lots of friends there. We always look forward to playing that one. Please make your plans for next year as it traditionally occurs towards the end of July first of August time period.
We played for the Rockville Regatta and thats yet another one that is just the best. We always look forward to that one too as we get to see a different demographic of fans and friends. A much younger crowd and different area........but don't let that fool you, they were on fire! SUch a great time and thanks to everyone that puts that dance on each year. You guys do a great job of being good sports, being tolerant and having some of the best security we see every year. We played the next Friday for the Charleston area Gamecock Club. WOW!! Had a great time and good to see all of our Gamecock people too. We look forward to this one every year and as usual, the crowd was just wonderful. Good Luck this year with all of the USC sports teams! We played this past Saturday for a birthday party out on Kiawah Island and while it was hot, the crowd was great. Dr. Nelson, congratulations and thanks for a wonderful time. Look forward to seeing you again soon. Let's do it again.....way before another 50 years go by! We with the Party Band are so lucky to be able to perform for so many people every year and share our music with everyone. Thanks to all of you who continue to support the group and we will continue to hone our music and show for you guys! 4th of July at Mt.Pleasant's Waterfront Park
Well, it's been quite awhile since I wrote a blog and feel like its time to get back to this. Since the last blog we have played a TON of jobs and we have had lots of things happening. On one job, we had the Legendary John Barker play keys and sing with us as he filled in for David Fuller. We also had Mark Stanley, a very talented guitarist and bassist fill in with us as well for Mr. Moore and Jack as well. Both were fantastic!
The Fourth was SAHWEEEEET!! The event was sold out PLUS more tickets were sold! Unreal! Loved the crowd, the 180 degree view of fireworks throughout the lowcountry. We had a great time and look forward to doing that one again next year. If you missed it, you missed one of the best lowcountry events of the year. Please take the time to check out the Friends of Santa page and make sure you get your tickets early as it will sell out too! What a BLAST each and every year. The Sand Dunes Club on Sullivans is one of my favorite places to play due to the people we play for there. Everyone is so nice and we ALWAYS have a ball there. You never know what's going to happen there and add in the Frinds of Santa; now you got yourself a PARTY! Join US! Check out the rest of the August schedule as there will be several open performances here in the Mt Pleasant area. Until then......... "Lets put 10 pounds of Party in that 5 pound bag!" THIS WEEK!
HEY PARTIERS!!!
This Friday we will be playing in Aiken SC for the Lobster races! When we first booked this, I thought Jack had lost his mind and worse, he may have been coming down with a strange low country version cross of dyslexia and lunacy! BUT WAIT.....it's true! We are playing for the Lobster Race Festival. From what I hear, this is a HUGE deal and I cannot wait to do this one. It just sounds like a lot of fun to me! Our first show is 8:30PM-9:30PM and the second show is 10:00PM-11:00 PM. We would like for ALL partiers in the area to come out and have a ball with us. Our guitarist and partner, Mike Shuler will not be with us unfortunately. He is stuck in Japan working and trying to help that bunch land some airplanes!! LOL We have replaced him on this event with Mr. Jeff Grimes. He was the illustrious guitarist and vocalist with the EMBERS for 12 years and a member of not only the Beach Music Hall of Fame, but South Carolina's Hall of Fame too. He will be burning it down for Mike and if you haven't seen Jeff play in awhile, now's your time to see him with the Low country's best band: THE EAST COAST PARTY BAND! Thats right...................you guessed it.................... We will be putting 10 pounds of party in a 5 pound bag! Bridge Run and Condon/Bond Wedding
You know, we got up REALLY freaking early for the 2010 Bridge Run!!! Not normal for musicians for sure. We all were there, more or less, by 7:00AM and it was as cold as a welldiggers butt (not that I would know about that ). We took the stage and played until right around noon for a little over 30,000 people. Outside of the cold, it was GREAT! We had a good time and saw lots of people we knew. Some even came to the event just to see us. (go figure) I saw a friend of mine I haven't seen in 12 years and surprised me so that I almost forgot her name (still pretty as ever
) OK........ so we had lunch afterwards and headed to Jack's house and had a short but great vocal rehearsal. I love those. It is so nice to hear the quality and amount of voices we have in the group at their best........ acapella! We took off for the Carolina Yacht Club downtown and it was another great performance. We have never sounded as good as we sound now, especially in that room. Mike Cook is just an amazing engineer and we could not be happier with Mike for all he does and all of his expertise! Unbelievable! We would like to extend our congratulations to the married couple and to both the Bonds and the Condons for such a wonderful evening. Thats the way a wedding reception should be done! Everyone look out for April 10th at the new Sea Ray Dealership. Rick Hall has moved Sea Ray of Mt Pleasant to the new location on Daniel Island. It is going to be tremendous! That is an unreal facility and the Hall Marine Group is truly first class. We will be there playing from 1-4 in the afternoon. Come join us there. If you are looking for a boat, they will have EXACTLY what you need. I think Rick may have something up his sleeve. It's about time for Jack to get a new boat.....hmmmmmm......maybe he has what JACK wants.....right there! Maybe they have what YOU want....right there!! Let's put 10 pounds of party in a 5 pound bag April 10th! Stilletto Ball and East Cooper Hospital Dedication
Hey folks,
The party was on last thursday for the Stilletto Ball. Everything was kinda wet under the new Pavillion at Patriots Point and it was a little chilly too! We had a great time until the wind and rain decided to blow through the party! Great seeing everyone and meeting new party people too. The East Cooper Hospital dedication was unreal! What a great facility. All of the folks there treated us great and we were able to meet with and see all kinds of new people as a bonus. Kids going crazy, adults trying to keep up, Party Band music, Community Band music, School singers, dancers and of course, all of the carnival assortments! Thanks to all those who came out and look forward to seeing everyone Friday at the big Oyster Roast on Sullivans Island. OK....SO......this may be something strange for some of you and maybe something that is way cool for some as well. The advent of the smartphone has just taken over the cell phone market and the way we all do business these days. The largest of those smartphone companies happens to be Research in Motion. RIM makes all of the Blackberry devices. NO......... we do not have a Party Band Smartphone, but we are developing a variety of themes for the various Blackberry models. We are doing this for you, our people, at no cost to you and within a few weeks, there will be a download page for you to click on and download as many of them as you would like. So now you can take the Party Band on your personal phone where ever you go. We will have an exclusive theme for each band member and for all of you aspiring tech guys and girls, there will be a Mike Cook "Cookie" theme available for you as well. We hope you all will embrace this and have fun with us! Show it off, pass along the info and get more people hip to who we are and what we do! As usual........keep putting 10 pounds of party in that 5 pound bag y'all! Leukemia Ball
Hey Party people,
The Leukemia Ball this past Saturday was just spectacular. Those folks at the Leukemia Society really know how to put on a party. The food was just wonderful, everyone was dressed so well and our rehearsing really paid off. I am convinced that when good people get together, good things happen; and they did. Our crew did an awesome job getting our staging done and we had a guest Lighting Designer, Andrea, come and work with us Saturday night. I can't say enough about our support staff. We are only a good group by ourselves but with all of those guys, we can really turn it on. (no pun intended) It was so nice to have all of the elements working nicely. Our group really is about a few things: Entertainment, Family, Fun and Music. Come join us at our public shows this year and if any of you are having a party, getting married or any other special occasion, contact us through the site and we would be happy to play for you too. |
